YOU SHOULDN'T EAT
EVERYTHING PUT IN
FRONT OF YOU.
You should avoid foods high in
cholesterol. It's a fact, a high
blood cholesterol level sub-
stantially increases your
chances of developing heart
disease. By cutting down on
fatty, rich foods, you can do
yourself a big favor. You could
lower your blood cholesterol
level and reduce your risk of
heart disease.

some free advice on how to
plan a diet good for life.

Variety Club Hosts
Film Preview And Auction

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 1990

v

ariety — the Chil-
dren's Charity hosted
an advance screening
of Kevin Costner's film
Dances With Wolves and an
auction on Nov. 14 at the
Northland Theater for 500
patrons, who raised close to
$40,000. The evening began
with a silent auction and a
sampling of gourmet dishes
from local restaurants and
finished with a live auction
and film preview.
President Bruce Rosen,
along with Denny and
Sandra Dembs, bid $6,000
for four tickets to the Emmy
awards in Hollywood. Other
interesting items were a
New York theater weekend,
VIP tickets to a taping of the
"Bill Cosby Show" and the
chance to host your own
sneak preview thanks to
Harold Turrell, Robert
Solomon and Associates
and Burt Levy.
This organization is part of
an international children's
charity group. The Detroit
chapter has raised money for
medical equipment and
research at Children's
Hospital, the Rehabilitation
Institute and other local
centers that aid children.
The evening's honorary
chairmen were Lawrence
DeVine and Denny
McLain, while the co-
chairmen of the event were
Lois Shaevsky, Dee
Shapiro and Elizabeth
Walters. Spotted in the
crowd were: Murray and
Linda Feldman, Susan
and Jules Myerson, Ceci
and Bill Stone, Ron
Rader, Debbie Adelson and
Sue Moss.

Volunteer Sandy Sam-
son summed up the feelings
of many Variety Club
workers: "It was fun, and it's
all for the kids."
