annual Children's Home
donor dinner 7 p.m. Nov. 27 at
the home of Judy Miller, 6905
Meadowlake, Birmingham.
This yearly event raises funds
to benefit the B'nai B'rith
Women's Children's Home
and Group House in Israel, a
residential treatment center
for emotionally disturbed
boys.
The evening's program,
"Big Band Sounds to Broad-
way — Jewish Heritage to
Modern Israel," will feature a
musical sampler presented by
Elaine Greenberg, accom-
panied by Zina Shaykhet.
There is a charge for the
event which includes dinner
and two Children's Home

The Sisterhoods of Adat
Shalom Synagogue and Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek will
sponsor their third annual
joint meeting 6 p.m., Dec. 3 at
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
The topic for this year's pro-
gram is "When Our Roles Are
Reversed: The Sandwich Gen-
eration Parents the Parents."
The evening's speakers will
be Rabbi Irwin Groner, of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek
and president of the Rab-
binical Assembly, and Dr.
Ronald Trunsky, associate
chairman, Department of
Psychiatry, Sinai Hospital.
A buffet dinner will precede
the speakers' presentations.

The National Council of

"An Evening With Mitch
Albom," 7:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at
Adat Shalom Synagogue. It is
co-sponsored by the NCJW's
Greater Detroit Section and
its Business and Professional
Branch.
Mr. Albom, sports colum-
nist with the Detroit Free
Press, will provide an inside
look at the local sports scene,
followed by a question and
answer session.
Mr. Albom is the only sports
writer to have won the
Mitch Albom
Associated Press Award for
Best Sports Columnist three
consecutive years. In addition
to his paperback, The Live
Albom, he co-authored Bo, an
autobiography of Bo
Schembechler,
