Plans Events

The Hillel Foundation at
University of Michigan is
planning the following
events.
The Progressive Zionist
Caucus will show The In-
tifada: A Search for Solid
Ground at 7 p.m. Nov. 26 at
Hillel. This film focuses on
the viewpoint of the Israelis
during the two years of the
intifada.
David Ariel, associate pro-
fessor at the Cleveland Col-
lege of Jewish Studies, will
give a talk on "The Mystic
Quest: Jewish Mysticism,"
7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at Hillel.
David Ariel has taught at
Wesleyan University and has
written on Jewish mysticism
and Judeo-Muslim relations.
Mr. Ariel will be available
Nov. 28 for students to meet
with him on the Cleveland
Fellows Program, a new
graduate program to recruit
and train young men and
women for careers in Jewish
education.
Jerome Segal, the founder
and president of the Jewish
Peace Lobby, will discuss
"Strategies for Responsible
U.S. Policies in the Middle
East," 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28.
Proud to be a Zionist Day
will be Nov. 29, sponsored by
Tagar on the Diag and at the
fishbowl.
Israel Information Day will
be Nov. 29. Sivan Maas, the
representative of the Jewish
Agency's kibbutz aliyah desk,
will be at Hillel to answer
questions and provide infor-
mation about a wide variety
of programs in Israel.
The Grads and Young Pro-
fessionals will hold a Sunday
morning brunch 11:30 a.m.
Dec. 2 in the Lawyer's Club.
Rachel Urist, a local
playwright and theater critic,
will discuss "The Perils and
Pleasures of Writing for
Theater." A bagel brunch will
be served. There is a charge.

Plans Programs
