Music Study Club of
Metropolitan Detroit will pre-
sent Shaul Ben-Meir, Detroit
Symphony Orchestra flutist,
in concert 12:15 p.m. Nov. 27
at the Birmingham Temple.
Mr. Ben-Meir studied in his
native Israel and in England.
His teachers included Jean
Pierre Rampal. He was prin-
cipal flutist of the Haifa Sym-
phony for three years prior to
coming to teach at Ithaca Col-
lege in New York. He is also
a member of the Detroit
Renaissance Woodwind
Quintet.
Accompanying Mr. Ben-
Meir will be pianist Fontaine
Laing.

Symphony Orchestra Hall
Volunteer Council's Holiday
Home Tour. 1990 marks the
31st anniversary of this
DSOH event.
The Birmingham/Bloom-
field Hills home tour begins
Dec. 4. Five private homes
will be open for tours between
10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
One Bloomfield Hills home
will feature a special holiday
boutique. A number of area
artisans as well as the
DSOH's "Music Box" bouti-
que will be selling hand-
crafted items and holiday gift
merchandise.
Children under 10 years
old, photography and smok-
ing are prohibited on the tour.
Holiday Home Tour tickets
are available at the Village
Barn in Franklin and
Something Special and
Village Records and Tapes in
Grosse Pointe.
