New Works
At Kidd Gallery
An exhibition of paintings
by George Kozmon - and
painted constructions by Ron
Isaacs will open at Robert
Kidd Gallery Nov. 17 and con-
tinue through Dec. An
opening reception to meet the
artist will be held 4-6 p.m.
Nov. 17.
Mr. Kozmon's paintings
focus upon architectural
structures in natural en-
vironments. A consistent
thread in his work has been
his fascination with odd van-
tage points, distorted perspec-
tives and magnified views; his
new work is less abstracted
and geometric than his
earlier paintings. The organic
element of vines, foliage and
water evoke a sense of
surrealism.
Mr. Isaac's work is a hybrid,
combining the qualities of
both painting and sculpture.
By carving and laminating
pieces of Finnish birch, Mr.
Isaacs builds his still-life con-
structions. The viewer's eye is
"fooled" into thinking it is
looking at a "real" leaf or
dress of other bit of personal
memorabilia.
Erte Jewelry
At Local Gallery
Danielle Peleg Gallery is
hosting an exhibition of Erte
jewelry 12-5 p.m. Nov. 18.
Food will be served from
Manuel's restaurant.
Erte's jewelry captures the
mythological and fantasy im-
agery so often found in the
theatre and fashion designs.
It carries the ancient sym-
bolism of status and wealth,
representing the essence of
good fortune.
Erte, considered the master-
of Art Deco, has created over
24,000 publicly and privately
collected original works of
art, distinguishing him as the
most collected artist of the
20th century.
Danielle Peleg Gallery is
located at 4301 Orchard Lake
Road, Suite 103, in the
Crosswinds Mall, 626-5810.
