urder at the Ritz:
The Case of the 24-
Carat Corpse" is the
name of the Children's
Hospital fund-raiser Nov. 7
at the Ritz Carlton in Dear-
born. The black tie benefit,
hosted by the Neurology
Parent Professional Ad-
visory Council, promises to
be suspenseful and intrigu-
ing as guests try to solve a
murder mystery performed
by professional actors. The
evening will raise funds for
Children's Hospital to pur-
chase a closed circuit
EEG/video system used for
evaluating brain disorders.
Judith Chazen, executive
chairperson, has been plann-
ing the event for over a year.
"I've learned from having a
disabled child myself to turn
this into a rewarding experi-
ence," said Mrs. Chazen. She
has enjoyed working on the
event and helping raise
funds for the hospital. She
reports that the committee
has received a letter of
recognition from First
Lady Barbara Bush.
Constance and Stanford
Krandall recently_held a pre-
view party announcing the
event and displaying the
Hapsburg diamond tiara
which Sidney Krandall and
Sons jewelry store will loan
for the mystery event. The
guests who solve the
mystery can win jewelry,
tickets to Hawaii or a
weekend at the Ritz Carlton.
Some of the sleuths at the
Krandall reception includ-
ed Richard and Susan
Rogel of the PPOM health
care system, the corporate
sponsor of the event, Herb
