The Mini-CAJE/Oppenheim
Family Teacher Training In-
stitute will be held 9 a.m.-4
p.m. Nov. 18 at the Days Hotel
in Southfield. This conference
is open to all Jewish
Educators in Michigan, Nor-
thern Indiana, Northwestern
Ohio and Southeastern On-
tario. Lay leaders involved in
Jewish Education are wel-
come to attend. A kosher
breakfast and lunch will be

Special Needs Department at
the Board of Jewish Educa-
tion in Greater Washington,
will present at a workshop en-
titled "Diagnostic Prescrip-
tive Approach to Teaching

School. Rabbi Aft will discuss
the changing role of women
in Jewish life and teach about
the contribution Jewish
women have made. This
course will meet from 7:30

"The Well from Which We
Drink: East European Jewish
Civilization and Its Impact on
American Jewry" will be
taught by Professor Zvi
Gitelman, professor of
political science at the
University of Michigan.
The course will focus on the
religious life of European
Jewry, East European culture
and its influence on Jewish
culture in America and
political ideologies and
movements and their in-
fluence on contemporary
Jewish life. It will meet from
8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
