Colorful pottery on the counters adds

windows in the winter and screens in
the summer "It's my favorite room,"
the wife said. Furnished in wicker and
wood with whimsical accessories, it
has a tropical flavor that begs you to
step in.
Leaded glass and wood doors lead
from the foyer to the den, which can
also be entered through the kitchen.
Large windows provide plentiful light,
as well as an excellent view of the golf
course across the street.
Describing the den, Ms. Sachse

blue colors are introduced in the an-
tique Oriental Baktiari rug."
In front of the sectional is a CyMann
leather and glass cocktail table. The
console table behind the sectional is
a black ash with granite inlay. Josef
Hoffmann nesting tables and club
floor lamps complete the setting.
Shelves on the right wall display
much of the owners' magnificent
glass collection. Finely crafted white
oak built-ins housing the entertain-
ment center span the length of the
room opposite the seating area. The
shelving unit at the back of the room
is bountiful with books and art work,
including several pieces of metal
pottery.
