Garden series Oct. 21, will
feature pianist David Syme
in a program featuring
Beethoven, Mozart and Liszt,
Gershwin, Jerome Kern and
Richard Rodgers. The concert
will be in the Grand Ballroom
at the Southfield Marriott
Hotel. Brunch will be served
at 11 a.m. and the concert
will begin at 11:30 a.m.
David Syme performed with
the DSO at the age of 18 and
has appeared with them on
eight occasions. In the Chopin
International Piano Competi-
tion in 1975, he was selected
to perform at Chopin's bir-
thplace in Poland. Mr. Syme
has recently performed at
Meadowbrook, Lincoln
Center, Kennedy Center and
the Dorothy Chandler
Pavilion in Los Angeles.
