Scott St. John, recipient of
Lincoln Center's 1990 Martin
E. Segal award, has soloed
with the Franz Liszt
Chamber Orchestra, the
Hungarian Philharmonic Or-
chestra, and the Royal
Philharmonic. Next season he
will perform a recital tour of
Yugoslavia and perform as
soloist with the Belgrade
Radio Orchestra.
Mr. St. John plays on an
Antonio Stradivarius violin,
made in 1717. He was award-
ed use of this instrument as
winner of the 1988 Canada
Council Competition. The in-
strument was a gift from Mr.
Leon Weinstein, donated by
the Ontario Heritage Founda-
tion to Canada Council's
Musical Instrument Bank.
The concert committee con-
sists of Joan Rose, Corliss
Rosenberg, Joan Linden, Ber-
nice Pinsky, Mildred Charnas
and Ruth Widrich.
