ford Festival will open at the

through Dec. 15.
Ms. Maraden is a veteran
actress at both the Stratford
and Shaw Festivals. She
began directing in 1985 at the
Ryerson Theatre School with

of comedy and melancholy,
romance and mistaken
identities.

`Starlight Express'
At Masonic

Andrew Lloyd Webber and
Richard Stilgoe's Starlight
Express, will skate into the
Masonic Temple Theatre Nov.
6-25.
The company will bring to
life an array of locomotives
and railroad cars. The re-
markable set features high-
tech skating bank curves
and a loop of track extending
50 feet out into the audience
allowing actors to achieve a
speed of 20 miles per hour on
skates. The set is transported
on eight 45-foot trucks and
will take 60 stagehands 16
hours to assemble.
The setting represents the
length and breadth of
America and the action in-

volves a cross-country corn-
petition among a variety of
engines, coaches, freight cars
and railroad trains of all
kinds from around the world.
They will compete to deter-
mine the fastest and greatest
locomotive of them all in one
of the most exciting and
elaborately staged races ever.
Tickets are available at all
TicketMaster Outlets or the
Masonic Temple Theatre Box
Office. For information call
the Masonic Temple Theatre,
832-2232.

Theatre troupe will perform

the soul of Harlem in the
1930s — the Golden Age of
places like the Cotton Club,
honky tonk dives, rent par-
ties, stride piano players and
swing. Ain't Misbehavin' em-
braces the songs he wrote or
recorded in a career that
ranged from uptown clubs to
downtown Tin Pan Alley,
from the U.S. and Canada to
Europe.

Moscow Circus
At Palace

The Moscow Circus will
return to the Palace for nine

market. Trainer Vladislav
Zolkin and his wife, Svetlana
Mikityuk, with the assistance
of their daughter, Cristina,
present a troupe of the Rus-
sian brown bears beloved by
Soviet audiences for their
amazing capabilities and
endearing personalities.
Performances are scheduled
Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 8 at
10:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Nov.
9 at 7:30 p.m.; Nov. 10 at
10:30 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7:30
p.m.; and Nov. 11 at 1 p.m.
and 5:30 p.m.
