The Hillel F,oundation's
Celebration of Jewish Arts
will present the film, The
Lodz Ghetto 8 p.m Oct. 13; 4
p.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 14 in
Angell Hall, Ann Arbor.
In 1940, the Nazis forced
the 200,000 Jews of Lodz in-
to a sealed, internally self-
governed ghetto, creating a
huge work camp for the Ger-
man war effort. This film
depicts the Nazi-appointed
Jewish leader of the ghetto,
Mordechai Chaim Rumkow-
ski. Mr. Rumkowski organiz-
ed the Jewish work force in
Lodz, trading slave labor for
food.
