Dr. Robert T. Clark

Dr. Amy B. Eston

(formerly of Metropolitan Eye Surgeons)

bus outfitted with child-
height sinks and mirrors
brought the dental team to
mountain summer camps
and city schools to teach
children how to take care of
their teeth on a daily basis.
Cartoons in French and
Arabic shown on a video
monitor reinforced the new-
ly taught skills.
At the end of these ses-
sions, each child received a
toothbrush, toothpaste and •
dental information for their
parents.
During the dental hygiene
sessions, the children were
checked for cavities and
other dental problems.
Those needing treatment
then visited the semi-mobile
clinic, where volunteer
Moroccan and Alpha Omega
Jewish dentists treated
them and set up medical
files for follow-up treatment.
At a ceremony in
Casablanca, JDC donated
the bus and clinic to the
Moroccan Ministry of
Health, which will continue
to operate the project.

New Germany
Will Negotiate

r

New York (JTA) — The
new, unified Germany is
firmly committed to
negotiate new restitution
agreements for certain
categories of Holocaust sur-
vivors, according to the Con-
ference of Jewish Material
Claims Against Germany.
"We are pleased that con-
siderable progress has been
made toward the achiev-
ement of our objectives,"
said Dr. Israel Miller, presi-
dent of the Claims Con-
ference.
Dr. Miller reported that
both the Federal Republic
and the German Democratic
-Republic have made a for-
mal commitment that the
unified German government
would seek an agreement
with the Claims Conference
to provide hardship
payments to Nazi victims
who did not receive any or
only minimal compensation.
The commitment is con-
tained in a document signed
by the two governments in
conjunction with the
Unification Agreement ap-
proved by their respective
parliaments, Dr. Miller
stated. The two Germanys
united Oct. 3.
As part of the unifying
agreements, legislation was
enacted providing for the fil-
ing of claims for restitution
of property subjected to forc-
ed sale, confiscation or other
seizures during the Nazi
period.
