Senator Carl Levin agrees with the Bush-Baker "peace" plan calling for Israel t return to the pre-
1967 lines. Mr. Levin led his fellow Senators in urging Israel to surrender land in exchange for
a piece of paper.

Pre-1967 lines not legal borders as the State Department falsely claims. They were
the cease-fire armistice lines where the 1948 Arab invasion to destroy the Jewish state
I
was stopped. Jewish survivors in the captured territory were kicked out, losing their
homes and all their possessions. In 1967 Israel fought back another attempt to conquer their
land. This time, the invaders were completely driven out and forced back across the Jordan
River, their recognized border.

Racist, Dishonest Policy. The Administration insists Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem's
Old City are "occupied territory" that Israel "seized" from the Arabs in 1967. That is
I
dishonest. It ignores the fact that 19 years earlier that area had been conquered by the
Arabs who forced all Jewish inhabitants to flee for their lives - the first time since the Roman
conquest Jews were barred from that territory. Now the Administration says Israel is occupying
land belonging to the Arabs and the 210,000 Jews that returned to their 3,300-year old
homeland in Judea, Samaria and in Jerusalem's Old City and its suburbs - are an "obstacle to
peace" and have no right to be there. That is racism!

The 19-Year Nightmare. The Bush Administration and Senator Levin want Israel to
relive the 19-year nightmare, to go back to the way it was before 1967, when what they

call the "Israel-occupied-territory" was in Arab lands. Each year, for those 19 years, there
were hundreds of Arab raids across the elongated Armistice lines separating Israel and its
neighbors - lines "guaranteed" by the Great Powers. Villages were attacked, houses blown up,
farmers murdered in their fields, children attacked by snipers, mines laid - as gangs came across
to burn, steal, kill and destroy. That terrorism cost Israel 700 dead and many thousands
wounded.
The Two-State Solution - Arab Palestine. The Administration and Carl Levin refuse
to recognize that Palestine has already been divided between Arabs and Jews and that

an independent Arab Palestine state exists. The British rulers of Palestine gave a gift of
the Jewish national homeland on the eastern side of the Jordan River to a Saudi Arabian family
and ousted all Jews from there. In 1946, the British proclaimed it to be the Kingdom of Jordan.
Arab Palestine Jordan is almost four times the size of the land west of the River left for the
Jewish people, but the Kingdom has only half as many people.

Supporting Terrorism. The Administration staged a reading by Arafat saying his PLO
accepts Israel and is against terrorism. That made the PLO lawfully acceptable for

Washington. Ignored is the PLO claim it never practiced terrorism, but have every right
to "continue the struggle for independence". Ignored is that the American-supported United
Nations camps are run by the PLO and are the source of the deadly violence against Jews and
the hundreds of Arabs grisly tortured and murdered by PLO-gangs. Ignored is that from the
American-supported UN camps in Lebanon - the PLO went on a bloody, savage rampage that by
1980 had killed 98,000 Lebanese. The Senator and the Administration absolves the PLO mass
killers of all their crimes and wants to put Israelis at their mercy.!

A Secure Border. Israel now from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean is only some
40 miles, but their river Jordan border is a natural tank trap, Israel's English Channel.

The Rift Valley of the River is the lowest point on the face of the earth, 1,200 feet below
sea level. Within a short span of a few miles, the hills rise to about 3,000 feet above.
Attackers would have to take this ground by fighting uphill. A few defenders could hold them
off.

Peace - by Suicide. The Bush Administration / Senator Carl Levin "peace" plan will
take from the Jewish people the land of their forefathers - Jerusalem's Old City, its

suburbs and the Judean and Samaria hills, that command Tel Aviv and surround
Jerusalem. Arab armor could be in Tel Aviv in 2 or 3 hours with no Jordan River barrier to stop
them. Israel's defenses take 48 hours to mobilize. Israel's sole international airport would be
at risk. More than a million Arabs calling themselves "Palestinians" being kept in Jordan, Syria
and Lebanon United Nations camps will move into the territory Israel surrenders. Israel will be
in a death-trap. Enemies of the Jewish people will have a foothold for their final "liberation of
Palestine" - the end of Israel, the massacre of its people!
