Detroit suburbs took about
seven hours, said Schwartz,
who stopped for water-
breaks along the way. He
said the cool front which
followed the storm created
good running weather. "It
wasn't that bad at all," he
said.
His effort, which has thus
far raised $28,500 for the In-
stitute, was Schwartz's way
of paying back the Institute
for corrective surgery done
on his infant son.
Some of the funds will help
bring surgeons from Israel
and other countries to study
as surgical fellows under Dr.
Ian T. Jackson, the In-
stitute's chief.
