1 qt. sweet apple cider
8 whole allspice
8 whole cloves
1 4" stick cinnamon, if desired
Dash of salt
1 /4 cup brown sugar, packed
Put cider into saucepan, add spices, salt
and sugar; cover and heat very slowly to
boiling. Heat should be so low that cider
requires about half hour to reach a boil.
Remove from heat, strain and serve
steaming hot. Serves 5
