Host Luncheon
• The Women's Auxiliary of
the United Hebrew Schools
will hold its annual donor
luncheon 12:15 p.m. Nov. 7 at
Congregation Beth Achim.
A musical matinee will
follow the luncheon. Selec-
tions will be performed by
Lolita Faynshteyn, soprano,
and Marina Zharkin, pianist,
recent Soviet Jewish emigre
musicians.
In Moscow Ms. Faynshteyn
sang with the Moscow
Operatic Theater and also
taught piano in a government
school.
Ms. Zharkin is a graduate
of the Leningrad Conser-
vatory. She performed as
soloist and accompanist with
the Leningrad State Philhar-
monic Society and taught in
the Leningrad School for
Gifted Children.

Plans Luncheon
Na'amat USA, Greater
Detroit Council will celebrate
its annual donor luncheon at
noon Nov. 1 at Beth Achim
Synagogue.
Chaim Chesler, exeuctive
director of the Aliyah Delega-
tion to North America, will be
the speaker. Mr. Chesler, hav-
ing perviously served as
general secretary, Israeli
Public Council for Soviet
Jewry, is in a position to ad-
dress the current problems in
Israel relative to the absorp-
tion and resettlement of
Soviet Jews.
The program will include a
musical salute to the 65th
Anniversary of Na'amat USA
(formerly Pioneer Women),
led by Molly Sallen and ac-
companied by Sonny
Lipenholtz.
