Hosts Rally
"No Contest Restrictions," a
benefit rally sponsored by the
Contemporary Art Institute
of Detroit (CAID) is schedul-
ed for 6 p.m. Oct. 4 in
downtown Detroit at 1431
Times Square (across from
the Times Square People
Mover Station). There is a
charge.
The rally organized "in
response to the current
restrictive climate threaten-
ing the arts today," will in-
clude a live DJ, dancing, cash
bar and interactive media.
The money raised will help
support CAID projects. CAID
was formed in 1978 by a
group of Detroit area artists
to foster and promote quality
contemporary art and to pro-
vide a forum for innovative
and experimental art. This
event is presented with sup-
port from the Detroit Council
of the Arts.
