The Southfield Jayhawks
Little League football team,
which helped found the Jack
Lowther Football League, is
seeking to contact former
players, coaches, cheer-
leaders and board members
to help organize a reunion.
"We know the team goes
back about 40 years," said
Bob Harvey, now serving his
second year as team presi-
dent. "We're sure there were
many Jewish youngsters
and coaches back then. We
believe they'd like to get
together and relive all the
former glories."
Harvey said an alumni
ball is in the works. He ask-
ed interested parties to call
him at 352-6329 for details.
The three age-group teams
— pony, junior varsity and
varsity — play their games
at Southfield High School at
noon Sundays.

timidated on the field, but I
was never comfortable with
all new teammates. They sent
around a form asking if you
wanted to room with another
player, but they never assign-
ed me a roommate, which
would have helped.
"In three games I gave up
just one run in six or seven in-
nings. Then, in the last game,
it was just boom-boom-boom,
five runs in one inning. But
that can happen at any level
of pro baseball." ❑
