Senior Health Fair Offers Testing West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation and Mature Minglers of Bloomfield Hills will sponsor their second an- nual Senior Health Fair 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 26-27. The two-day event offers adults 55 years and older the opportunity to investigate health issues pertinent to seniors. The Sept. 26 program will be held at the Mature Minglers Center, 7273 Wing Lake Road, Birmingham. The Sept. 27 program will be held at the West Bloomfield Senior Center, Holy Spirit Church, 4800 Orchard Lake Road. Most events are offered at no charge to the participant including a box lunch provid- ed courtesy of American House Farmington. The schedule each day will in- clude a presentation on diabetes, a CPR workshop, a cancer risk assessment and an individual prescription review. Exhibitors at the health fair will represent health care providers and services, nurs- ing associations, insurance services and residences for the elderly. Seniors will also have the opportunity to take advantage of free vision, hearing, blood pressure, skin fold, blood sugar and peripheral arterial disease testing. Flu shots will be available from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for a $3 donation. The flu shots will be administered by the Oakland County Health Department. Participants can have their cholesterol check- ed by CBC Lab Services. The cost of the cholesterol test is $5. A mammography exam- ination will also be available by appointment only.
