A child. Israel's future.

Thousands of them with their families will complete the historic
exodus from the Soviet Union this year. More than twice the number
that Israel originally expected. Plus thousands more from places like
Ethiopia and Argentina.

For over 50 years, Detroit's Allied Jewish Campaign, in partnership
with the United Jewish Appeal, has helped families from every corner
of the world come home to Israel.

In the midst of the greatest ingathering since the founding of the State,
our task is far from over. With your help, Operation Exodus will make

it possible for a generation of Soviet Jews to start new lives in
freedom.

At the same time, Detroit's Allied Jewish Campaign is sustaining
thousands more of our people and holding out the promise of better
lives. People right here in our home town. People in Romania and
Czechoslovakia and Poland. Our people.

But we can help them only if we have the cash to back up our
promises. Please send your check today. Because what you help to
root today, will be what Israel — and the Jewish People — becomes
tomorrow.
