Ground-Breaking Set For B'nai Moshe Congregation B'nai Moshe will hold a ground-breaking celebration under a tent on its West Bloomfield property, 6800 Drake Road, 2 p.m. Sept. 30. Jewish Welfare Federation President Mark Schlussel, B'nai Moshe President Sharlene Ungar and lbwnship Supervisor Sandra Draur will speak. A scale model of the new building, prepared by ar- chitects Neumann/Smith will be on display. Persons who have contributed or made a pledge to the congregation's building fund will be given the opportunity to turn a shovel of earth. Entertainment will be by a Klezmer Band, clowns, magi- cians and balloon makers. Child care services and refreshments will be provid- ed, and ceremonial souvenirs will be distributed. Chabad Center Dedicates Ark On Rosh Hashanah, Sept. 19, services will be at 8 p.m. Sept. 20-21 services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday ser- vices will be at 10 a.m. Yom Kippur services will be as follows: Kol Nidrei 7 p.m.; morning services 10 a.m. A kiddush will be served at the conclusion of all Rosh Hashana and Shabbat ser- vices. There is no charge. Shabbat services are at 10 a.m. in the Northgate Clubhouse. Rabbi Yosef Mishulovin will speak about the upcoming High Holidays. Bais Chabad Torah Center will dedicate its new ark with a luncheon Sept. 15. The all marble ark, designed and built by Avi Benaderet, is fashioned after the architect's perception of Mt. Sinai. The project was begun last year in conjunction with the request of the Lubavitcher Rebbe that all Chabad centers undertake getting in- volved in building expansion. There is no charge. Services Set For Emigres The new Russian congrega- tion invites all families from the Soviet Union to High Holiday Services at the Jim- my Prentis Morris Jewish Community Center. The services will be con- ducted by Rabbi Yosef Mishulovin of Moscow, rabbi and director of F.R.E.E. Leading the prayers will be rabbinical student Sholom Ber Polter. Russian translated prayer books will be available, as well as holi- day literature. Adat Shalom Sets Observances Adat Shalom will observe Selichot 9:30 p.m. Sept. 15. Dr. Mark Smiley, headmaster of Hillel Day School and Aviva Silverman, will present "Interpretations of the Akeda (The Binding of Isaac): Historical Viewpoints." Traditional Selichot Ser- vices will be at 11 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Traditional Tashlikh ser- vice will be at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 20. Participants will walk together to the pond on the grounds of the synagogue for the Tashlikh service. There is no charge.
