mix in whole wheat flour and
baking soda until well blend-
ed. Refrigerate until firm (at
least 2 hours). Shape mixture
into 1-inch balls. Arrange on
cookie sheet leaving 2 inches
between each. Press down
with back of wooden spoon
until 1/4-inch thick. Bake in
preheated oven until edges
are lightly browned, about 15
minutes. Cool for 5 to 10
minutes before transferring
to wire rack to cool complete-
ly. Makes about 36.

fessor of political science at
Wayne State University, will
speak on "The Middle East —
Politics and Oil" 7:30 p.m.
Sept. 18 on the Orchard Ridge
Campus of Oakland Com-
munity College.
The program is presented
by the Futures Institute of
Oakland Community College
and Women's Action for
Nuclear Disarmament
(WAND).
Dr. Waters received his
Ph.D. in international rela-
tions from the University of
Chicago, worked at the
United Nations for one year,
and has taught at Wayne
State since the late 1950s. He
is advising the Czechoslo-
vakian government on the
revamping of their political
and economic systems.
