Orchestra Hall Opens Season Detroit Symphony Or- chestra Hall will open its 1990-91 season with a week of events, concluding with DSOH's annual Salute to Paradise Theatre on Sept. 15. Originally built in 1919 as the home of the Detroit Sym- phony Orchestra, Orchestra Hall has now been restored. To celebrate Symphony Week, Detroit Symphony Or- chestra will give two free lun- chtime and rush-hour con- certs and its annual Salute to Paradise Theatre concert. This year's salute will pay tribute to DSOH's jazz era with performances by the Duke Ellington Orchestra with Mercer Ellington, vocal- ist Betty Carter and Detroit's Three Sixes.
