Sherry Lansing, Hollywood
producer, will headline the
Women's Division combined
gifts fund-raising meeting
Sept. 27 at the home of
Marlene Borman.
The morning meeting, at
which Irving Nusbaum will
talk about Operation Exodus,
will be the first combined
gifts fundraiser sponsored by
the Pre-Campaign, Kadima
and Koach sections of
Women's Division.
In 1980, Ms. Lansing
became the first woman presi-
dent of a major motion picture
studio, 20th Century-Fox Pro-
ductions. There, she was
responsible for creative deci-
sions, financial negotiations
and the selection of all
theatric productions.
Ms. Lansing is co-chairman
of the United Jewish Appeal's
Women of Distinction. A reci-
pient of the Abram L. Sachar
Silver Medallion at Brandeis
University's National
Women's Committee's 42nd

camp, Dr. Mames was in-
strumental in organizing the
Holocaust Memorial Center
and launched its oral history
project in which survivors re-
count their experiences on
video tape.
Dr. Mames was co-editor of

Jerusalem (JTA) — Two
Jerusalem teen-agers on a
hike in the Arava have been
reported missing, and au-
thorities fear they may have
crossed the border into Jor-
dan sometime last week.
Officials say the youths
likely went to visit the an-
cient city of Petra in
southern Jordan.
Hananel Shear-Yashuv
and Lior Mizrahi, both 17,
left their homes Aug. 26 for
a hike in the Arava.
