Yeshiva Gedolah has
created a memorial fund in
honor of the late W.B. Doner,
founder of the Southfield
advertising agency.
Names of founding con-
tributors to the fund will be
inscribed on a hand-painted
Scroll of Tribute com-
memorating Mr. Doner's
achievements in advertising
and in the Jewish communi-
ty. The scroll will be
presented to the Doner fami-
ly at the Yeshiva's annual
event Nov. 14.
Mr. Doner's son, Randolph
Friedman, started the

his father in the celebration
of his own achievement. Mr.
Friedman is the recipient of
this year's Talmud Torah
(Student of Torah) Award,
presented annually to a stu-
dent in the yeshiva's adult
continuing education pro-
gram. The award will be
presented at the Nov. 14
event, the school's major
fund-raising program.
The fund will benefit

Tam Members Give
$641,000 To Exodus
Members of Tam O'Shanter
Country Club, responding to
an appeal by Operation Ex-
odus Chairman David Mon-
dry, announced contributions
totalling $641,313 at a
special gathering on behalf of
the campaign to rescue and
resettle Soviet Jewry.
It was the first time any
local country club had held
such a meeting, and Mondry
expressed his gratitude to the
200 club members who turn-
ed out. The meeting was
organized by Herbert Rechter,
with the assistance of Tam
O'Shanter President Steven
Epstein and the club's Opera-
tion Exodus and Community
Relations committees.
In his remarks, Mondry
recalled the helplessness of
the Jewish world 50 years ago
when millions of Jews were
being murdred in Europe.
Mondry pointed out that
one million Soviet Jews have
already applied for visas to
Israel. Because of the over-
whelming numbers of olim
that are arriving daily, the
Operation Exodus Campaign
is continuing locally and
nationally.
Local efforts continue with
the distribution of thousands
of special tzedaka boxes to
youngsters through Jewish
schools and synagogues.
Jewish Experiences for
Families is mailing tzedaka
boxes with specially designed
Operation Exodus coloring
books to its mailing list of
3,000 families. Others who
would like to receive a color-
ing book and tzedaka box
may contact J.E.F.F. at
661-0600.
Bertha Billet, Prentis Towers Residence Council president; Manny
Koenigsberg, Hechtman Residence Council; and Eva Gold, Teitel
Residence Council president, present checks from the three Jewish
Federation Apartments residence councils for Operation Exodus to
David Mondry, Operation Exodus chairman.
