cover or alter dog tags in-

The JWB's Jewish
Chaplains Council believes
that while unofficial advice
was indeed given, "there
was no issuing at any time of
substitute dog tags for any
Jew serving in the
military," said Rabbi David

Heart-To-Heart
Talks Planned

Tel Aviv (JTA) — The
Weizmann Institute of
Science and the Research
Center for Cardiology in
Moscow have signed an
agreement to collaborate on
heart research.
The agreement was signed
last month in Rehovot, the
location of the Weizmann
Institute, by Professor V.N.
Smirnov, deputy director of
the Russian institution, and
Professor Ruth Arnon, vice
president of the Weizmann
In stitute.
They expressed hopes that
the agreement would mark
the beginning of a new era of
cooperation between Soviet
and Israeli scientists.

of the Weizmann Institute
and Dr. Marina Glukhova of
the Moscow Cardiology
Center are making ar-
rangements for exchange
visits.

Israel, Soviets
Sign Agreement

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Labor
organizations in Kiev have
signed an agreement with
Histadrut's Kupat Holim
sick fund to share informa-
tion on the treatment of vic-
tims of the 1986 Chernobyl
nuclear disaster.
Israeli expertise has been
provided for use in a mother-
child care center near Kiev
which is treating Chernobyl
victims.
Nearly 200 Jewish chil-
dren from cities in the Cher-
nobyl region were recently
brought to Israel by the
Chabad Lubavitch organiza-
tion. They are the first of
3,000 children expected to be
brought to the religious
township of Kfar Chabad to
receive medical treatment
for radiation-associated
sickness.
