Lianne Laing,
Ottawa, Canada
Lianne, age 15, is an On-
tario Junior "A" provincial
champion in gymnastics.
She won a gold medal in the
vault, bronze medal in floor
exercises, finished fourth on
the bars and sixth on the
balance beam.
She also is a Canadian
eastern region Junior "A"
champion.
In 1989, Lianne was a
member of the national
Canadian Maccabi team and
took an eighth place in gym-

Windsor, Canada
Angie Garant will repre-
sent her community in
swimming. She finished se-
cond in the city in the 50
meter freestyle (28.88) and
first in the 100 free (1:02.00).

Tracy Dreyer,
Australia
Tracy Dreyer, 14, began
playing tennis four years
ago in her native South
Africa. Her family im-
migrated to Sydney,
Australia in 1988.
She was ranked first in the
12U age group in South
Africa and was singles and
doubles national champion
in her age group. She now
ranks first in New South
Wales and fourth nationally
in the 14 and under age
group. She was runnerup in
the Australian champion-
ships in January.

ON THE MOVE

Aaron Wische,
Houston
Aaron Wische has been
playing soccer since age 5 at
the Jewish Community
Center in Houston. He was
captain and leading scorer of
the JCC team in 1988 when
it won its recreation league
championship. Last year,
with Wische serving as
player and assistant coach,
the team won its second
championship.
Last fall, Aaron made his
varsity high school team as a
freshman. He also became a
licensed referee with the
United States Soccer Fed-
eration.

Mandl Poslky,
Windsor, Canada -
Representing the Windsor,
Ontario, Jewish Community
Center, Mandi is a promis-
ing runner in Canada. She
finished second in the Wind-
sor city championships in
the 100 meters (13.0), fifth in
southwestern Ontario (12.9)
and ninth in the regionals
(13.1). She also finished se-

Lauren Goldstine,
Los Angeles
Lauren was a major factor
at the JCC Maccabi Games
track meet in Chicago in
1988, but is playing on the
Los Angeles basketball team
in Detroit.
In Chicago, she won the
100, 200 and 400 meters,
and ran on the silver medal
400 meter relay team. She
was California state champ
in 1986 at 100 and 400
meters, and came in fifth
(58.8) in the 400 at the TAC
National Championships in
1988.
Lauren was an all-league
basketball center at
Westlake High School this
year, and set a team season
rebounding record last year
as a sophomore with 274.
She is 5' 11" and carried a
4.0 grade point average the
last two years.

David Goldstein,
Long Island
Long. Island's soccer team
is anchored by David Golds-
tein. A 10-year soccer veter-
an, his Northport-Cow Har-
bor team recently won the
New York State Cup. He
was a member of the New
York State Select team in
1988 and the Long Island
Select team in 1989.
He played sweeper for
Northport High School last
fall, and has also lettered as
a sprinter on the track team.
