Emigre Seeks
Family Members

Mrs. Betya Vulman
(Ratner), recent emigrant
from the Soviet Union, is
seeking surviving family
members:
Shmuel Polack (Pollack)
and his sister Chana Polock
(Pollack) who immigrated to
the U.S. 1921 to 1925 from
Kuzmin, Kamenetz-Podolsky
oblasty, Ukraine. Their
parents were Haskl
(Yechezkel) Polack and Sura
(Suara) Polack (nee Ratner).
Other family members are
Fuga Polack, Moshe, Srul
(Yisrael), Zizya Polack, Yuda
(Mordko) Ratner and his
children: Srul, Gersh, Yankl
and Betya.
Anyone having pertinent
information is asked to write

Texas 77035.

Students Win
Writing Contest

The Holocaust Memorial
Center and the Farmington
Public Schools co-sponsored
an essay contest among
eighth grade students follow-
ing visits to the Center.
Students at O.E. Dunckel
Middle School placed first, se-
cond and third in the writing
contest. The winning essay
was written by Lisa Bagley.
Second place went to
Catherine Kenny for her
poetry entitled "Why Can't
He See?" Third place honors
were shared by Renee Chou
whose essay is titled "The
Prejudice of Social Injustice"
and Jean Sung for her entry
entitled "The Holocaust."

Phone System

Jewish Family Service has
received a grant of $35,000 for
an updated telephone system.
Jewish Welfare Federation
will fund 50 percent of the
new project. The United Way
will support the additional 50
percent through an emergen-
cy capital funds allocation.
The new telephone system
will be installed in mid-
August.
