has uncovered quotes from:

• Rodney Dangerfield:

got her tongue caught in the
toaster."
• Joan Rivers: "It's been
so long since I made love I
can't even remember who
gets tied up."
While he hasn't given up
on physics, Mr. Pandres sees
some possible spin-offs from
the book, including T-shirts,
coffee cups and even
underwear.
Born in Oklahoma and
reared in Texas, Mr. Pan-
dres had a career as a
corporation research scien-
tist before coming to
Dahlonega. He describes
himself as a typical southern
Jew, the kind sprinkled
throughout the region, a Jew
with little or no connection
to a Jewish community but
who identifies with being
Jewish.
Mostly he likes to concen-
trate on his primary resear-
ch interest: developing a
theory that unifies the four
known forces in the uni-
verse: gravity, elec-
tromagnetism, the weak
nuclear force and the strong
nuclear force. Such a theory
would reveal how the uni-
verse works.
With such a lofty goal, it
might be expected that Mr.
Pandres would put equal
fervor into his research for
The Sexual Intellectual,
perhaps drawing some
truths from the words of
world leaders like Harry
Truman, Lyndon Johnson
and Winston Churchill.
But it's clear that for Mr.
Pandres, sex isn't physics.
"I wasn't looking for
truths," he says. "I was look-
ing for humor." ❑
