The computer helps the user pronounce Hebrew words by transliterating
every syllable into English and Russian.

Another offering is the
"Jewish Categories Game."
One to seven players choose
categories like the Bible,
Israel, Jewish Life, Famous
Jews and Jews and Sports.
The game includes a scoring
mechanism that should ap-
peal to kids hooked on arcade
games.
And the Purim Anthology
offers a disk full of educational
aids on the subject of Purim —
including a presentation of

the Megillah, complete with
computer "boos," and a
jukebox of 25 Purim songs. If
that's not enough to keep the
user's attention, sub-programs
offer facts and quotes about
Purim, quizzes — and the
dates for the next 200 Purims,
in case anybody is interested.
One caution; like many pro-
grams, these Jewish games
may not coexist peacefully
with memory resident pro-
grams. ❑

Computer Makes
Easier Hebrew

Boston Company,
LEV Software,
has come up
with a computer
software pro-
gram that, with a press of a
button or the click of a mouse,
merges written Hebrew with
music and teaches haftara
and Torah portions, prayers,
blessings and songs.
The computer identifies let-
ters of the Hebrew alphabet. It
also helps the user correctly
pronounce Hebrew words by
transliterating every syllable
— into both English and
Russian.
In addition, the program can
play in any of the 12 musical
keys, over a range of two
octaves.
Users utilize their own voice
while reading the Hebrew text
and may chant in their own
key. Tempos also can be
regulated without affecting
pitch, so the user can start
slowly and increase the tem-
po as he progresses.
lb use the program, you
need an IBM PC or compati-
ble with graphics.
Programs available are
Basic Blessings, Shirim,
Zmirot, Holiday Songs, Haf-

A

tutor, Trop Tutor and Torah
Tutor.
LEV will demonstrate its
programs at Temple Israel
11:30 a.m. Aug. 17.

Fashion College
Has Anniversary

Ramat Gan (JTA) — When
the Jerusalem Economic
Conference of 1968 resolved
that a school should be es-
tablished to train a new ge-
neration of textile and ap-
parel specialists, no one
could have imagined that
the school would burgeon
into a degree-awarding col-
lege whose graduates are on
the cutting edge of Israel's
economy and world fashion.
The Shenkar College of
Textile Technology and
Fashion, now celebrating its
20th anniversary, has
graduated over 1,400 young
men and women with bache-
lor's degrees ranging from
Textile Technology to In-
dustrial Management.

Chiropractic Health Hints

WITH DR. STANLEY LEVINE, D.C.

IGNORE YOUR BACKACHE &
SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES!

Back pain, however insignificant it seems, is frequently the
beginning of serious, painful problems. Problems such as pin-
ched nerves, slipped disc, neuralgia, neuritis, (and sometimes
arthritic type pains), tuberculosis and even paralysis.
The spine is a complex system of nerves, muscles, bones,
ligaments and cartilage which are interconnected to control
specific areas of the body. When the bones, or VERTEBRAE
are misaligned, they pinch the surrounding body. This often
results in complications which can be severe and permanent.
Doctos of Chiropractic are experienced in treating patients with back pain.
They can restore spinal vertebrae to their proper position, relieving pain and
avoiding further serious complications.
