Dave Honigman. Always There for Us. Always.

In 1984, Dave Honigman became the first
Jewish Republican ever elected to the Michigan
House of Representatives. Even today, Dave re-
mains the only Jewish Republican ever elected to
the Legislature in the 153 year history of our state.

Dave Honigman now wants to become the first
Jewish Republican ever to be elected a Michigan
State Senator, and he needs our help.

Dave has always been there for us, serving us, on
the Michigan Board of Directors of the Anti-
Defamation League of B'nai Brith, the Jewish
Vocational Service and the American Israel Pub-
lic Affairs Committee.

The Anti-Defamation League needed a well
respected legislator to sponsor legislation to crack
down hard on bigots who commit crimes against
Jews and other minorities. Dave Honigman was
there for us. And the Honigman Hate Crimes and
Ethnic Intimidation Act was passed into law.

The Anti-Defamation League needed a vigor-
ous advocate for legislation to protect Jews and
other minorities from domestic terrorism, Dave
Honigman was there for us. And the Honigman
Anti-Domestic Terrorism Act was passed by the
legislature and signed into law by Governor
Blanchard.

When the Jewish Vocational Service needed a
Republican legislator on its board of directors,
Dave Honigman was there for us.

When Michigan's Jewish community needed a
well respected public servant to stand up to Louis
Farrakhan and denounce his virulent anti-semitism,
Dave Honigman lead the protest, in person before
Farrakhan and in the media before the people of
Michigan. Dave Honigman was there for us.

Dave Honigman was there for us to host the
1990 Holocaust Memorial Ceremonies at the State
Capitol. And when the American/Israel Political
Affairs Committee (AIPAC) needed a much ad-
mired legislator to introduce Israeli diplomats to
state legislators and to act as an advocate for Israel,
Dave Honigman was there for us.

When national Jewish leaders gathered to se-
lect the next generation of Jewish leadership, they
asked Dave Honigman to serve. With others of his
generation from across the country, Dave partici-
pated in a 2-year program to pass Jewish traditions
and values to the next generation of American/
Jewish leaders.

Dave Honigman has been a pioneer for us.
Dave Honigman has always been there when we
needed him. Now, he needs us.

Be there for Dave August 7th. Whether you're
a Republican, Democrat or Independent cast your
vote for Dave Honigman in the Republican pri-
mary for the State Senate. Make him the first
Jewish Republican ever elected to the State Sen-
ate. Dave will continue to make us proud.
