Judy Miller talks about Personal Choices "What would you think of a law that bans eggs for breakfast?" "Now don't answer too quickly. "After all, there's a lot of talk these days about eggs. "Some people tell us that it isn't good to eat too many eggs. Of course, we don't know if that's so, and we don't really know how many is too many. Mean- while, other people tell us that eggs are just fine. "But this new law promises to do all our thinking for us. It will make choices for us. It will make our lives better, we're told. "The new law will limit eggs to cooking and bak- ing. So you'll still have hollandaise sauce and lemon meringue pie. The thinking, apparently, is that under some conditions eggs are okay But forget poached, scrambled, three-minute, and sunny-side-up. Let's say it's about the color your car can be, or whether or not you can give a piano recital on a Tuesday evening, or how many children you should have, or what kind of shrubs you can plant in front of your home. Do you know some people who'd be good candidates to serve with the Shrub Police? "Does all of this sound ridiculous? Well, maybe it does, but maybe some of it actually is happening. We need to take very close and careful looks at every- thing that goes on in our state capital and make sure that none of it gets in the way of your right to make your own personal choices." i rlanir filer Go to Lansing with Judy Miller, the Pro-Choice Candidate escifuatn.Semtzte,/".
