22. He leaves his father, Alex-

Insurance Agent

Shelby M. Small, 37, of Far-
mington, died July 19.
Mr. Small was an indepen-
dent life insurance agent, a
member of B'nai B'rith and
active with the Jewish Com-
munity Council.
He leaves his wife, Lisa,
mother, Tillie Small of
Southfield; mother-in-law
Yona Friedman of Southfield;
sisters and brothers-in-law,
Nadine and James Lipson of
West Bloomfield, Elissa and
Robert Brown of Southfield.

Henry Brode,
Clothing Executive

Henry Brode, 88, of Miami
Beach, Fla., and Oden, Mich.,
formerly of Detroit, died
July 17.
Born in Russia, Mr. Brode
was a men's and women's
clothing executive of Brode's

Department Store in Inkster
before retiring in 1973. He
was a member of Congrega-
tion Shaarey Zedek, Optimist
Club and Moslem Shrine
Club.
He leaves his wife, Dorothy,
children, Seymour and
Dolores Brode of Bloomfield
Hills, Annette and Jack Ham-
burger of Bloomfield Hills,
Marvin and Joanna Brode of
Ann Arbor, Howard and Lili
Brode of Birmingham,
Carolyn and Michael Alon of
Florida; 14 grandchildren;

Mrs. Greenbaum was a
former model, a member of

Women and the sisterhood of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
She leaves her husband,
Ralph, daughters and son-in-
law, Sherry Lipin of West
Bloomfield, Judie and Marty
Udoff of Newhall, Calif.; son
and daughter-in-law, Todd
and Mary of Rochester;
brother and sister-in-law,
George and Ruth Canvasser
of Irvine, Calif; sister and
brother-in-law, Rose and
Julius Meskin of West Bloom-
field; three grandchildren.

Sadye Geschelin,
Social Worker

Sadye D. Geschelin, 82, of
Birmingham, died July 17.
Mrs. Geschelin was a social
worker with Jewish Family
Service, past board member of
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter and a member of the Na-
tional Council of Jewish
Women and Hadassah.
She leaves daughters and
son-in-law, Audrey and Irving
Rose of Bloomfield Hills,
Muriel Seskin of Troy;
brother, Eli Davidson of New
York City; sister, Gussie
Kushner of West Palm Beach,
Fla.; five grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren.

Phillip Goren,
Plumber

Phillip Goren, 85, of Birm-
ingham, died July 19.
Born in Russia, Mr. Goren
was a plumber-contractor for
45 years in Detroit. He was a
member of B'nai B'rith and
Halevi Choral Musical Group
Society.
He is survived by his wife,
Sylvia; sons and daughters-
in-law, Hershel Goren of
Shaker Heights, Ohio, Aaron
and Sherry Goren of Farm-
ington Hills, Kal and Miriam
Goren of Bloomfield Hills;
two grandchildren.

During the coming week Yeshiva Beth Yehudah will observe the yahrtzeits of the following departed friends, with
the traditional memorial prayers, recitation of kaddish and studying of mishnayos.
