vices with the new influx of

Speaking at the 76th an-
nual national convention of
Hadassah, Sullivan praised
the Zionist organization's
continued commitment to
health care for Arabs and
Jews alike, as embodied in
the Hadassah-Hebrew Uni-
versity Medical Center
facilities at Ein Kerem and
Mount Scopus.
Sullivan said he learned in
Israel "that when a patient
crosses the threshold of
Hadassah, that patient is
treated with dignity, respect
and love," despite the fact
that "minutes earlier that
patient may have been a
disruptive hate-monger,
peddling violence and
destruction in a land that for
too long has not known
lasting peace."
He said he had been told
by both Jewish and Palestin-
ian health-care providers
that "while health care has
improved immeasurably for
all people in Israel during
the last 20 years, many Pa-
lestinians still do not have
access to the affordable,
high-tech health care system
available to most Israelis."

You should avoid foods high in

blood cholesterol level sub-

chances of developing heart

fatty, rich foods, you can do
yourself a big favor. You could
lower your blood cholesterol
level and reduce your risk of

Canada Begins
Rudolph Case

Toronto (JTA) — Immigra-
tion hearings got under way
here Wednesday for Arthur
Rudolph, the suspected
former Nazi rocket scientist
who is now fighting for the
right to remain in Canada.
Jewish groups fear that
the proceedings could drag
on for months, while
Rudolph enjoys freedom of
movement.
Rudolph and his wife,
Martha, arrived July 1 at
Toronto's Pearson Interna-
tional Airport from Ham-
burg, West Germany, where
he has been living since he
left the United States in
1984, rather than face war
crimes proceedings.
Rudolph was arrested at
the airport, detained by im-
migration authorities for
more than nine hours and
later released on bail, pen-
ding hearings on whether he
could remain in the country.
Since his arrival, Jewish
groups in Canada and the
United States have pro-
tested his presence in this
country, alleging that
Rudolph is a Nazi war
criminal and should be
barred from Canada as he is
from the United States.

ASSAF HAROFEH
MEDICAL CENTER IN ISRAEL
in Helen's memory.

This hospital, located fifteen miles from Tel Aviv
serves an area in Israel containing over a quarter
of a million people including immigrants from
the Soviet Union and Ethiopia. It is also a
teaching hospital connected to Tel Aviv Univer-
sity and its medical program.

Just as Assaf Harofeh exemplifies a truly caring
nature for the people of Israel, so was Helen's
devotion to Israel evident in her hard work and
untiring efforts for its people and causes.
