Ana's FAMILY DINING Pottery Show At Somerset The usual concept of a pot- tery exhibition is one of a variety of shapes and forms and a myriad of colors. However, the works of the father-and-son team of Bob and Bruce Diebboll have a dif- ferent concept. Their tradi- tional salt-glazed vessels are all decorated in cobalt blue drawings on backgrounds of varying shades of gray — in- terrrupted only by the colors in their dinnerware. They will exhibit their work July 26 through Aug. 5 at the Somerset Mall in Troy. Historically, saltware was first made in Germany and England, and continued in this country throughout the 19th century. They were utilitarian vessels which also served as a medium for sim- ple, unsophisticated folk decorations. The major portion of this ex- hibit is the result of these two studio potters' intense in- terest in the early designs and shapes of folk pottery. These are hand-thrown on the potter's wheel by Bruce and individually decorated by Bob. Many of the shapes and designs are influenced by ear- ly folk art which they enjoy and are passing on; others are original in their conception. 2 FOR 1 SPECIALS FOR BAKED CHICKEN. . .$9,25 2 $ 9,75 FO2R VEAL CUTLET....
