ingham. clocked 16:27.07 to
become the overall winner of
the Mayor's Three-Mile
Fourth of July Funfest run
in Oak Park.
Sponsored by the city's
parks and recreation
department, the event drew
90 entrants. "It was one of
our most enthuasiastic tur-
nouts ," said Steve
Woodberg, department di-
rector. Mayor Charlotte
Rothstein was the race's of-
ficial starter while Sol
Cohen was race chairman.
Others doing well were
Merek Sakwa of West
Bloomfield, who finished se-
cond in the men's junior (17-
under) division with a 17:02
time; Joel Kashdan, also
West Bloomfield, third in
men's masters (40-49) in
19:05 and Mitch Moses,
Detroit, fourth in the men's
sub-masters (30-39).
The mayor's trophy went
to men's winner Wright
Wilson and women's winner
Ruie Sirls. Both are from
Oak Park.
