Heritage Mission

The Jewish experience —
past and present — and the
changing political face of
Eastern Europe will be the
focus of the Morasha
(Heritage) Mission Oct. 21-31
for young leaders age 25-40.
The 10-day mission for
singles and couples will begin
in Poland with a tribute to
the heroes of the Warsaw
Ghetto Uprising. There will
be a dinner and an evening of
Yiddish theater at the War-
saw Opera House with Polish
Jews and Righteous Gentiles.
The mission will include
visits to Auschwitz-Birkenau,
the Kazimierz Jewish district
of Cracow as well as other
sites of Jewish interest.
In Israel, the group will
visit an absorption center and
attend a Shabbat observance
at the Western Wall.

Resettlement Group
Hosts Seminar

A seminar on The Legal,
Moral, Emotional and Finan-
cial Issues Involved in Being
The Local Relative of a Rus-
sian Immigrant, will be held
7:30 p.m. July 12 at Jewish
Family Service.
The seminar will be con-
ducted by Lydia Kuniaysky,
Resettlement Service Coor-
dinator. She will discuss the
status of immigration and
emigration and the pro-
cedures required to extend ap-
plications and affidavits.

Men Arrested
For Smuggling

Jerusalem (JTA) — Two
technicians employed by El
Al Israel Airlines were ar-
rested last week in connec-
tion with a large-scale
smuggling operation.
Moshe Ramos, 54, and
Moshe Keren, 43, were or-
dered held in custody Friday
for seven days, pending
criminal proceedings. They
are suspected of smuggling
video cameras, video
recorders and other high-
tech electronic equipment
from the United States to
Israel.
