Route 10 Gallery has open-
ed its doors to artists seeking
to explore a new format that
will establish the gallery as
an artists' cooperative.
Terry Shapiro, the gallery's
director, said she is interested
in developing new oppor-
tunities for artists to market
their work.
"I want to provide the ar-
tists with a more direct in-
volvement with those persons
interested in their work. Most
artists don't have a strong
marketing sense. So, we
would like to be kind of an
educational arm as well."
For information, call
Shapiro at Route 10,
932-4160.

The Route 10 Gallery in
Farmington Hills will feature
contemporary watercolors by
Jo Rosen through July 13. In-
cluded in West Bloomfield
painter Rosen's exhibit is a
series of new works which the
artist calls `Newsart," small
vignettes made of recycled
news and recycled art (her
own).
"Newsart," is inspired by
her enthusiasm about en-
vironmental issues. "Why
shouldn't today's headlines be
destined for more than just
the recycling center?" asks
Rosen.
