The white supremacist candidate, Ralph Forbes, had received a 46 percent plurality in the first round of voting in May, just short of the majority needed to clinch the primary. But in the runoff, he received a mere 4,431 votes, only 14 percent of the total, giving his opponent, Kenneth (Muskie) Harris, a sweeping victory. Arkansas is the home of the Covenant, the Sword and the Arm of the Lord, an anti- Semitic and racist extremist group under investigation by the Federal Bureau of In- vestigation, as well as the home-base of Thom Robb and the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Forbes had managed the 1988 presidential campaign of another white supremacist, Louisiana State Rep. David Duke, and orchestrated the World Peace Day Crusade in 1981, which sought the release from prison of Nazi leader Rudolf Hess. Sotheby's Sells Jewish Artworks For Big Bucks Jerusalem (JTA) — Collec- tors paid six-figure sums re- cently for works by interna- tionally famous Jewish ar- tists at an auction at Sotheby's Tel Aviv gallery. The top price, $220,000, was fetched by Moise Kisl- ing's vibrant painting of a vase of scarlet and white tulips dating from 1948. It went to a Swiss private col- lector. The same buyer laid down $159,000 for another Kisl- ing, a blue-eyed Nude with Spread Arms painted in 1928. An anonymous bidder paid $209,000 for a stormy land- scape painted in 1923 by Chaim Soutine. Most of last week's sales fetched prices well above estimates. A gracefully tortuous bronze sculpture by Ossip Zadkine, The Messenger, went for $154,000, and a se- cond Kisling nude, a redheaded woman reclining on her back, went for
