JCC Father's Day
June Health Club Special

who are there to see and be
seen. Such glitterati won't
be jumping and screaming —
that's not their style. But
they do support the team, if
more financially than emo-
tionally, and others can ap-
preciate that.
Among the kippot in the
crowd at Game 2 was one
belonging to Rabbi Bill Ger-
shon of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, who said he
attends as many Pistons
games as his rabbinic duties
permit. "People are into the
game tonight because it's
the NBA Finals," said the
rabbi, who was seated in the
lower level. "It is definitely
a social event, but the fans
are into the game the whole
way through."
And most everyone agreed
with Matthew Rosen, 27, of
Birmingham after the
Pistons lost Game 2 in OT.
"It was an emotional
roller-coaster ride from
beginning to end and the
fans were wilder than ever,"
he said. "It's a shame we lost
a game like this." ❑

Palacevision Pulls
Over 15,000 Fans

There were more jumping,
screaming and stomping
fans at the Palace of Auburn
Hills to watch Game 3 of the
NBA Finals June 10 on
Palacevision than there
were in Portland, where the
game was played.
Some 15,102 each gave $3
donations to the Muscular
Dystrophy Foundation to
watch and cheer the Pistons'
victory. Portland's smaller
Memorial Coliseum had a
full house at 13,000.
Among those not at the
Palace Sunday were Brad
"Bubba" Urdan, veteran
Pistons Ball Boy, and Eric
Randolph of the team's sales
staff. Both were in Portland
for the game.
