Singles To Dine
At Musicafe
The "Progressive Dinner
Series" for singles age 25-45,
sponsored by the Jewish Com-
munity Center, will be held
at the Metropolitan Musicafe,
7:30 p.m. June 27.
The dinner enables par-
ticipants to meet other
singles by changing tables
after each course. Music and
dancing will follow dinner.
Seating is limited to 24 men
and 24 women. There is a
charge. Reservations are re-
quired and are due by June

A new choice for the frail elderly
A new caring alternative for
the frail elderly is now
available at the exciting new
and elegant West Bloomfield
Nursing and Convalescent
Center.
Two dozen Detroit area
singles will participate in a
singles mission to Israel
July 1-11.
Led by Gilbert Borman and
Robert Colburn, the Jewish
Welfare Federation-sponsored
mission will include a visit to
an absorption center where
Russian immigrants are be-
ing retrained for jobs and
learning Hebrew.
Also planned are visits to
the Museum of the Jewish
Diaspora, a nature reserve,
Masada, Project Renewal
summer camps and the Israel
Museum; seminars; socials
with Israeli singles; ar-
cheological excavations; tree
planting in a Jewish National
Fund forest; a sing-along; a
disco party; and a desert
experience.
Detroiter Richard Blumens-
tein is national singles mis-
sion campaign chairman.
More than 200 singles age
25-40 from across the United
States are expected to par-
ticipate. A second singles mis-
sion is scheduled July 15-25.

Center Social Singles (40-60)
will host a Sunday Funday,
2 p.m. June 24 at Camp
Ruth II, located at the Jewish
Community Center Maple-
Drake building.
Volleyball, basketball, bad-
minton, swimming and a
barbeque are scheduled. In
case of inclement weather, the
event will be cancelled.

Dinner, followed by a race
named especially for the
Social Singles is planned.

Space Workshop
Aims At Parenting
Space — Room to Grow will
sponsor a workshop, "Paren-
ting Children of Divorce,"
7:15 p.m. June 12 at the
Space office in Southfield.
The workshop, presented by
Dr. Mel Raider, will seek to
help parents respond to the
effects of separation or divorce
on their children. The
workshop will also clarify
roles and responsibilities of
custodial and non-custodial
parents.
On June 19 at 7:15 p.m.
Space will sponsor a
workshop, "Legal Aspects of
Divorce."
Henry S. Gornbein will pro-
vide insight into legal aspects
of divorce, custody issues and
estate planning. He will
discuss antenuptial agree-
ments and issues in re-
marriage.
On June 20, a drop-in
discussion group will feature
the topic, "Challenges and
Changes," at 7:15 p.m.
On June 27, 7:15 p.m.,
special drop-in discussion
groups will be offered, one for
widowed men and women, the
other for those who are
separated or divorced.
Drop-in discussion groups
are offered every Wednesday
at the Space office. Pre-
registration is not required.
