Pre-Mission 'Trips

Visits to historic Jewish
sites, to Auschwitz and the
Jewish Historical Institute
will be part of a pre-mission
trip to Poland as part of the
Detroit Jewish community's
Exodus Mission Sept. 5-16.
Pre-mission options also are
available to Russia and
Hungary. Contributors of
$5,000 or more to the 1991
Allied Jewish Campaign are
eligible to participate. Follow-
ing their pre-mission ex-
periences, the groups will
convene in Israel for a com-
bined celebration.
In Israel, mission par-
ticipants will meet with
Soviet Jewish immigrants
and see the absorption pro-
cess first hand. There will be
meetings with Israeli of-
ficials, cultural activities,
social events, archeological
explorations and
entertainment.

Daaba (biblical Ramses) and

After touring Cairo and its
environs, the group will fly to
Aswan to board a Presiden-
tial Nile ship to sail to Abydos
to see the Great Temple of
Seti I, the burial place of
kings; the Temples of Karnak
and Luxor; the Valley of the
Kings and other sites in
Jewish and Egyptian culture
and history.
At the end of the 10-day
cruise up the Nile, travelers
will fly back to Cairo for one
final evening before returning
to the U.S.

Oct. 22, 1990, is priced at
