KEVIN DANGOOR SHAWN DINES ADAM DORFMAN TALI EDUT DAWN FAXON West Bloomfield Berkley Roeper Ferndale West Bloomfield Tali is sixth in her class, Phi Beta Kappa and active in Na- tional Honor Society, or- chestra, marching band and P.T.S.A. She was awarded the National Council of Teachers of English Excellence in Writing Award. "While I love to write, I prefer to draw. In my spare time I paint designs on denimwear, and was awarded a Gold Key in the Scholastics Art Competition for my designs." She will enter the University of Michigan to study both art and communications. Faxon is valedictorian and will attend the University of Michigan. She plans to major in economics and mathemat- ics. She was vice president of her BBG group. Her interests include jazz dancing, graphic design, economics and business and she volunteers at several senior citizens homes, including Fleischman Hall. She was a member of the French Club, Prom Plan- ning Committee, DECA, Humanities Club, Teens Helping the Homeless Club, International Club, Physics Club, Senior Citizens Prom and Project Graduation. Dangoor is a salutatorian and was awarded a scholarship from the alumni of the University of Michigan, a School of Science scholarship to Purdue University, a Stevens Academic Fellowship (for Stevens Institute of Technology) and he is a Na- tional Merit finalist. He qualified for the Michigan Competitive Scholarship and won an Award of Excellence in Poetry in the Detroit Free Press writing awards in 1989. Dines is a National Honor Society member, Spanish Club treasurer, Student Council representative, twice president of Congregation B'nai Moshe Junior Con- gregation and winner of several writing awards. He has received several Merit scholarships, however his col- lege plans remain undecided. He plans to be a lawyer after obtaining a degree in political science or business. Dorfman, senior class presi- dent, will attend Yale. He was co-captain of the varsity soc- cer team and a member of the varsity basketball team. He is a recipient of the Rensselaer Science and Mathematics Award and is a National Merit finalist. He is active in fund-raising and decision- making at Roeper, and will participate in Reform Jewish organizations at Yale. MICHAEL FLAM TZIREL FRIEDMAN ALISA GUYER JEFFREY M. HABER RANDY HORTON West Bloomfield Beth. Jacob Akiva North Farmington Berkley Flam is valedictorian and will attend the University of Michigan, where he will pur- sue a medical degree. He has been on the honor roll for four years, Phi Beta Kappa, Michigan Competitive Scholarship honorary award and a member of National Honor Society. He belonged to AZA for three years and served as chapter secretary for two years. He played junior varsity football and basketball with AZA. Friedman will attend Machon Bnos Yehuda, a seminary in Israel. She is Phi Beta Kappa, a Michigan Competitive Scholarship qualifier, a Wayne Merit Scholar, and has been recognized for all- around excellence in her studies. She is a Bnos leader, actively involved in school ac- tivities and clubs, and was the co-head of the National Bais Yaakov convention, hosted in Detroit this year. Guyer, valedictorian of general studies at Akiva Hebrew Day School, plans to attend Barnard College. She is in the IGNITE program for high school students at the University of Michigan- Dearborn, and she serves on the staff of Akiva's literary arts magazine. Her interests include dancing and piano, and she hopes to spend a year studying in Israel. Haber will attend Wayne State University's honors pro- gram on a full-tuition Merit Scholarship. He hopes to enter with enough advanced placement credits to earn sophomore status. He plans to major in chemistry, and either attend medical school, continue in chemistry, or study genetics. He has represented his school at Michigan's Boy's State Pro- gram and has actively par- ticipated in student govern- ment, the science olympiad and the chess team. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, writing and telecomputing. Horton will attend the Honors College at the Univer- sity of Michigan. He has been an active member of Michigan State Temple Youth, where he served this year as social action board member and taught music at Temple Emanu-El Sunday School.
