Biederman will attend
Massachusetts Institute of
Technology, studying engi-
neering. He is a member of
the National Honor Society
and Phi Beta Kappa, captain
of the varsity track and cross
country teams and plays
violin in the Metropolitan
Youth Symphony Orchestra.
He was selected to participate
in Boy's State and as mayor
of Student Government Day.
He is a member of USY and
attends the Nosh and Drash
program at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
Apfelblat will attend the
University of Michigan
Honors College, studying
biology and aiming for a
medical degree in neurology.
She was a member and sec-
tion leader of four award-
winning school bands. She
graduated with honors from
the Community Jewish High
School. She was secretary of
the National Honor Society, a
member of Phi Beta Kappa
and co-editor-in-chief of the
Aquilla.
Beresh will attend Michigan
State University as a winner
of an Alumni Distinguished
Scholarship. He plans to
study mechanical engineer-
ing. He is a National Merit
finalist, Phi Beta Kappa, a
recipient of the Renssalaer
Award for Mathematics and
Science and an honorable
mention in the 33rd annual
Michigan Mathematics Prize
Competition. He is music
director of Southfield High's
radio station.

Sarah Schneirer, a teacher's
institute in Jerusalem. She is
Phi Beta Kappa, a Michigan
Competitive Scholarship
qualifier, and a Wayne Merit
Scholar. She has been
honored at the Detroit
• Science Fair, in the Free Press
writing contest, and with a
special school award for all-
around excellence. She is an
active member of Bnos
Agudath Israel.

Southfield
Bordman is a valedictorian
and will attend Michigan
State University, majoring in
business. She is a member of
National Honor Society, Phi
Beta Kappa, MISTY, and the
WBHS marching band for
four years. She tested for her
black belt in karate in April.
She is a member of Temple
Kol Ami. She plans to attend
the University of Michigan
law school and be a litigation
lawyer.
Berkove will attend the
University of Michigan
Honors College. He is a
member of the National
Honor Society and is in the
Scholars Plus program. He
was the captain of the cross
country team and on the var-
sity wrestling team. He was
active in NCSY and BBYO.
Last summer, he participated
in the NCSY summer trip to
Israel.
Collens will attend the
University of Michigan Col-
lege of Engineering. He is a
National Honor Society
member and co-captain of the
varsity track team. On
trumpet, he is first chair in
both the orchestra and sym-
phony band and is a section
leader in marching band. For
the past two years he has
played with the Metropolitan
Youth Symphony.
Cousens will attend the
University of Michigan where
she will study history and
political science. She served
as president of Michigan
Region B'nai B'rith Girls this
year. She served as school
yearbook editor and was in-
volved in many other school
clubs, such as the National
Honor Society and Student
Caucus.
