tours for Jewish sin-
gles is a welcome
development.
These tours, in addition to
making it possible for singles
to meet new people, open new
vistas for the traveler because
of their varied itineraries and
programs.
First and foremost is the
new Singles Tour to Israel
now offered by El Al Airlines.
The tour includes seven
nights in Jerusalem, two
nights in Galilee and four in
Tel Aviv. There will be a trip
to Masada and to the Dead
Sea.
Daily breakfasts and
nightclub entertainment are
included in the price of the
tour. There are five departure
dates — July 4 and 16, Aug.
6 and 20, and Sept. 3.
Young Jewish Leadership
Concepts, a non-profit young
professionals network, runs
National Young Professonals'
Tours to Israel, for singles in
their 20s and 30s. The tours
are scheduled June 28-July
15; Aug. 16- Sept. 2 and Dec.
13-30.
The first week is spent in
Jerusalem and the rest of the
tour explores the country
from the Galilee to Eilat. The
tour price covers five-star
hotels, breakfasts and three
Sabbath eve dinners. Each
tour features exclusive
events. The program has been
highly praised by the Israel

A Singles Tour sponsored by
Hadassah, Sept. 2-14, for ages
25-40, consists of programs
and social events with Israeli
singles.
Persons age 22 to 35, or
35-60, wishing to explore

other lands and cultures, will
find the tours offered by
Single Scenes of much in-
terest. Their schedule lists a
tour of Turkey, along with a
yacht cruise, for July 11-29; a
visit to China and Hong
Kong, Aug. 14-26; and a tour
of India, Dec. 19-Jan. 1, 1991.
A trip to Israel is planned for
Dec. 22-Jan. 4, 1991. For in-

Several tours, while not
specifically for singles, are
nevertheless interesting to
singles as well. A "Tradi-
tional Tour of Israel" is being
sponsored by Canadian
Friends of Bar Ilan Universi-
ty, June 11-20. The tour goes
to Jerusalem, the Dead Sea,
Galilee and Tel Aviv. Shabbat
is spent at a kibbutz guest-
house. In the cities, accom-
modation is at five-star
hotels, and includes Israeli
breakfast and dinner daily.
The Society for the Protec-
tion of Nature in Israel has
unusual year-round trips at
moderate prices. Packages in-
clude hiking tours of various
parts of the country. For infor-

One El Al tour of interest to
singles is the seven-day
package to London. It in-
cludes hotels and breakfast
daily, a tour of London and
theatre vouchers for two plays
in the city's West End.
A fascinating tour of the
Orient is scheduled June
25-July 15. Now in its seventh
year, the "Pepper, Silk and
Ivory" tour will be led by Rab-
bi Marvin Tokayer, who
formerly lived in Tokyo. Rab-
bi Ibkayer has lectured on the
Jews in the Orient through-
out many Jewish com-
munities in North America.
