Chiropractic Health Hints

WITH DR. STANLEY LEVINE, D.C.

THE PAIN OF MIGRAINE
IS VERY, VERY REAL

"Quite frankly, we Doctors often make the mistake of using names or
labels of serious conditions without fully explaining them," says Dr. Levine,
D.C. of Levine Chiropractic Clinic.
"For instance, migraine, by any name, is the most cruel type of
headache."
Dr. Levine went on to describe a typical migraine attack. It can start
with a heavy feeling over the eyes. The victim generally becomes depress-
ed with the thought of going through another bout with migraine.
"The pain begins at the base of the skull and radiates, or throbs, to
one or both sides of the head," the good Doctor continued. "Some senses,
such as hearing, become extra acute. A dripping faucet will sound like a cannon exploding. The
least jarring or stooping aggravates the pain."
What causes a migraine?
According to Dr. Levine, a nerve pressure at the base of the skull is the culprit. This nerve
pressure impairs the tone of the pyloric valve, diminishing the efficiency of digestion. Bile entering
the stomach becomes difficult to dispel. The lower pelvic organs may produce low-back nerve
pressures.
"Pain pills and headache remedies offer only temporary relief at best, while doing nothing
to relieve the cause of the problem," cautions Dr. Levine. "All the definitions and technical language
in the world mean little to the person suffering migraine headache. 'Relief' becomes the most precious
word in the English language."
In closing, Dr. Levine reminds us that since 1895, Chiropractic has been used effectively to
relief nerve pressure in all parts of the body, nerve pressure that can cause a migraine headache.
Like all forms of illness, migraine is a sign that something is wrong in the body. And until the
cause of the trouble is eliminated, the body cannot enjoy the healthy state nature intended.
