At Somerset

In anticipation of the Van
Gogh centenary celebration
in the Netherlands this year,
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
commissioned Dutch
photographer Paul Huf to
capture on film the places
Van Gogh lived, worked,
studied, painted and finally
died on July 29, 1890 at age
37. The exhibit takes place
June 3-17 at the Somerset
Mall in Troy.
Van Gogh lived a nomadic
life which took him to
Holland, Belgium and
France. Before setting out on
this photographic journey,
Huf spent a year researching
Van Gogh's life.
This exhibit will be shown
world-wide, and Somerset is
the last of the three Michigan
cities to be visited.

stitute of Chicago. This trip

Michigan Avenue.
This exhibition features the
series paintings of the 1890s
by French Impressionist
Claude Monet. They include
the famous haystacks, poplars
and the views of Rouen
Cathedral.

On Exhibit At DIA

Inconoclastic artist Andy
Warhol's portraits will appear
in "Andy Warhol: Fifteen
Minutes of Fame," opening at
the Detroit Institute of Arts
May 27 and continuing
through July 22.
This is the first DIA
Statewide Services exhibition
dedicated to the work of a con-
temporary artist.
