Cultural Arts
Classes At JCC

Nancy Gurwin has created
a theatrical curriculum for 13
to 18 year olds for a playhouse
class at the Jewish Communi-
ty Center's Maple-Drake
building. This class will meet
for six weeks on Sundays from
2 p.m.-3:30 p.m., beginning
June 3.
Also, the JCC offers music
classes for children and
adults at the Maple-Drake"
building and the Jimmy
Prentis Morris building in
Oak Park.
A five week adult tap dance
class will start June 1 at the
Maple-Drake building.
There is a charge. For infor-

physical and cultural aspects
of the capital of Israel —
Jerusalem.
In Jerusalem: Soul of a Peo-
ple, the history of the city is
presented in a historical col-
lage. Utilizing animation,
photographs and documen-
tary footage, viewers are led
step by step through
Jerusalem's past, present and
future.
Sites Unseen: Off the Beaten
Track in Jerusalem in-
troduces the viewer to sights
in and around Jerusalem.
Isaac Stern dreamed of
bringing a new musical to
Jerusalem, a dream that
came to fruition with the
founding of the Jerusalem
Music Center. Music in
Jerusalem brings together
performances by Stern, Pablo
Casals, Gina Bauchauer and
a young Yefim Bronfman,
with visits by Golda Meir,
David Ben-Gurion and Ar-
thur Rubenstein.

'Slow Dance'

The Jewish Ensemble
Thetre will present its third
and final production of the
season — Slow Dance on the
Killing Ground, June 13
through July 1 at the Aaron
DeRoy Theatre in the Jewish
Community Center's Maple-
Drake building. Preview per-
formances begin June 6 and
run through June 10.
The play, directed by Evelyn
Orbach, is William Hanley's
exploration of man's paradox-
ical urge to simultaneously
embrace and escape reality.
