An Art Sale So
Spectacular
You'll Be Hooked.
"Americans on Vacation,"
the first comprehensive
museum exhibit about the
history of our national
pastime of getting away from
it all, opens May 26 at Henry
Ford Museum.
With nearly half of all
American families enjoying
long-distance pleasure trips
each year, the vacation has
become a key part of our
culture with a growing in-
dustry devoted to servicing it.
"Americans on Vacation"
traces how vacationing evolv-
ed from a demonstration of
elite status to a symbol of
"the good life" for all.
